COMPACT- A joint agreement between a the statutory and voluntary/community sector to build trust and improve working relationships for the benefits of both parties.
However, voluntary and community sector organisations may want to work together in partnership. The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) has put together a lot of information to help groups work together.
Developing agreements between voluntary or community organisations
NCVO defines collaborative working as partnership between voluntary or community organisations. An organisation may work with one other partner organisation or may belong to a wider consortium. Organisations can work together in a spectrum of ways from informal networks to joint delivery of projects, and for a range of purposes. Whether collaboration lasts for a fixed time or is permanent, the organisations involved retain their independence and separate identity.
