Redbridge Police Community Engagement Group
The Redbridge Police Community Engagement Group (RPCEG) was launched in November 2007, and held its first AGM in March 2008. It is funded by the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) and hosted and administered by RedbridgeCVS.
The aim of the group is to:
Provide constructive input to local policing and community safety issues and engage with the police and Local Authority about their performance.
The group is made up of 30 members:
- 16 representatives from the Voluntary & Community Sector
- 4 Members of Parliament for Redbridge
- 4 Councillors
- 4 representatives of Safer Neighbourhood Panels
- 1 representative of the Police Independent Advisory Group
- 1 MPA link member for Redbridge
It is attended by the Police Borough Commander and senior Council Officers.
The group meets quarterly at RedbridgeCVS. Meetings are open to the public, and there is the opportunity for members of the public to submit questions prior to meetings which will be answered on the night.

Stop and Search Monitoring Group
This group was set up by the Redbridge Police Community Engagement Group in Autumn 2009. The purpose of it is to consider the information supplied by the police in relation to stop and searches carried out in the borough, and to consider any issues arising from this.
The group is currently looking to recruit new members. It meets approximately every six weeks during the day. Anyone interested in joining the group should contact:

The Home Office has launched a consultation paper which outlines new ways they believe will change the face of policing for the better, over the next five years. Get involved and have your say by responding to the consultation here.
The consultation ends on Monday, 20th September 2009.
