About the Redbridge Volunteer Centre

Ahead with Volunteering

RedbridgeCVS is very pleased to say that we are, once again, working on developing a Volunteer Centre for Redbridge. We have been successful in securing grant funding from Redbridge Council to help us work towards establishing a fully functioning Volunteer Centre.

We will be working with Liz Walker, our previous VC Manager, on a part-time basis, to help us ensure that we can deliver the key 6 functions of a Volunteer Centre, as defined by Volunteering England by next year.

o Brokerage (ie making appropriate placements)
o Good practice development
o Marketing volunteering
o Developing volunteering opportunities
o Policy response and campaigning
o Strategic development of volunteering

We will be making funding bids this year to support the long term delivery of the Volunteer Centre service for Redbridge

We have also secured funding from NHS Redbridge to employ a volunteer support worker to help them find and manage volunteers to help with their work. They have also offered us space at the Loxford Polyclinic which we will use as an outreach-post for the Centre. In the meantime we are continuing to run a range of training events for Volunteer Managers and others in the voluntary sector wanting to make best use of volunteers.
