RedbridgeCVS are pleased to announce a NEW training programme specifically for voluntary & community groups working, or wishing to work, with children, young people and their families.
Aim
This flexible programme offers your staff and/or volunteers access to training to increase their business skills, improve their practice and develop your workforce to deliver high quality services which enhance the outcomes of children, young people and their families in Redbridge.
For
People working or volunteering in the voluntary and community sector with children, young people and their families in Redbridge.
- What is disability equality?
- Why is it important for Disabled People to have independence, choice and control?
- Why is language so important?
- How can you include Disabled People without being tokenistic?
At the end of the course you will:
- Understand the Social Model; its origins and importance in breaking down barriers for Disabled People and use practical examples to make sense of theory.
- Know how your role is intrinsically important in ensuring the rights of Disabled People are met.
- Have had a discussion around language and disability.
- Feel empowered to include Disabled People in all services.
Eligibility
If you fulfil all the following criteria you can access this programme FREE OF CHARGE:
- You work or volunteer with a 3rd Sector organisation in Redbridge.
- Your organisation works, or wishes to work with children, young people and their families.
