	Ball Park Figure	An estimated or average number
	Baseline	A measurement to which things are compared
	Benchmark	a target or measure against which performance is to be judged
	Beneficiaries	those who benefit from the services your organsition provides
	Bottoming Out	fully understanding a problem/issue
	Capacity Building	ensuring that organisations have the skills, knowledge, structures and resources to realise their full potential
	Commissioning	Placing an order for a particular piece of work to be carried out for which a fee will be paid
	Consultation	the seeking of views from people
	Core funding	The money required for operational, management and day to day costs of a charity
	Drilling Down	to find out more detail behind/ get deeper under the surface of a research finding
	Empowerment	Enabling people to take responsibility for themselves and helping them to make decisions about thier own lives
	Enterprise	Undertaking a new, sometimes risky, venture using initiative
	Framework	A supporting structure
	Joined-up thinking	Thinking that takes into account how things effect each other (rather then looking at something in isolation)
	level playing field	Equal starting point
	Milestones	key events with dates, marking stages in the progress of a project or programme
	Mission statement	Overarching statement of purpose of an organisation, usually distilled into one sentence
	Multi agency working	different organisations working together
	Number crunching	focussing on statistics
	Objectives	Statements describing expected achievements that are specific, measurable and derived from the aim
	Out of the Loop	not aware of developments
	Outcomes	the effects of a projects activities
	Outputs	the immediate measures of what a project did (eg. 10 people attended training courses)
	Performance Indicator	a measure that shows how well a project is going
	Quality Assurance System	a set of standards for an organisation to work towards in order to demonstrate quality eg. PQASSO, Investors in People, Matrix
