Rajbir Athwal - Capacity Development Worker, LEAD

 

Rajbir joined RedbridgeCVS in August 2005 as Capacity Development Worker for the LEAD project.

My previous work experience includes working as a Funding Information Officer, Policy and Grants Officer at the Association of London Government and Capacity Building Officer at CEMVO. I have spent most of my time working and helping BME Communities, fulfilling my interest as well as giving me job satisfaction. My experience has enabled me to widen my understanding of the BME communities and their organisations, and the strategies employed to tackle some of the issues experienced by them. More importantly it has given me an in-depth understanding of how BME voluntary organisations participate in national and local agendas such as social inclusion and regeneration of inner city areas. I have gained considerable knowledge of the theory and application of capacity building and look forward to using this in the future with groups
