Join Ilford Historical Society at Redbridge Central Library for an educational talk on Ilford's Victorian Police, presented by Reverend John Brown of St Luke's Church, Ilford. 

The Metropolitan Police (K division) arrived in Ilford c.1843. The ‘Peelers & Bobbies’ faced hours in uniform; long, lonely night ’beats’ on foot with just a whistle or rattle to summon help.

Attendance is £3 with free refreshments provided. Doors open at 7pm.

Masks are optional and hand sanitizer will be provided.
