Multi-faith Walk of Peace

Sunday, 23 September, 2018 - 13:00

Organised by Redbridge Faith Forum, who say "This year it is more important than ever for us to walk together in a spirit of harmony valuing our common precepts by showing our understanding and respect for each other. We will visit different faith venues and talk and about what each of us do to promote peace and respect. Please join us in the whole or part of the walk (join/leave at any point)"

The walk assembles at the Holocaust Memorial Garden, Valentines Park, Ilford (Cranbrook Rd entrance) and then continues to Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Singh places of worship.

Directions for finding the Holocaust Memorial Garden in Valentines Park

Arrive at the pedestrian entrance to the Southern Gardens of  Valentines Park, which is nearest the Ilford Town Centre, in Cranbrook Rd. It is next door to the London Darbar Restaurant, close to Park Avenue. IG1 4TG is the nearby building in the park.

The (Northbrook Road) bus stop from the town centre is immediately across the road from this entrance, outside Manor’s office. 13 buses from all over Redbridge stop here. In the park follow the path keeping to the left for just 100 yards to reach the Memorial Garden. The Memorial Gardens are the gathering point, for the beginning of this year’s Inter Faith Peace walk. See the map here.

There is car parking space available at the Melbourne Road entrance to the park – IG1 4SB
