When planning services for the local community it is important to engage with a diverse range of people for the benefit of both the organisation and beneficiaries.

This training explains the value and role of community/ peer researchers in designing services and support that meet the social and cultural needs of a community. We will also consider the skills needed to plan for and decide whether involving community/ peer researchers is right for your project.

This training is delivered in partnership with Equality & Diversity UK.

You'll learn how to:

  • Understand the role of community/ peer researchers in giving the community a voice and overcoming social, cultural and logistical barriers
  • Explore the opportunities and challenges of involving community/ peer researchers
  • Appreciate the importance of planning ahead and the skills needed for community/ peer researchers.

This training is useful to trustees, staff and volunteers
