Redbridge Voluntary Sector Network Online

Wednesday, 5 August, 2020 - 10:00 to 11:00

An opportunity for people from local charities and community groups to get together and discuss issues affecting us. We're often also joined by colleagues from the local statutory sector, such as Redbridge Council and the NHS.

We normally hold monthly meetings in Ilford Library. Until further notice we're holding these meetings online every two weeks using Microsoft Teams software. You need a computer with speakers and a microphone. You don't need to install Teams on your computer - you can join the meeting using your web browser. If you don't have a computer, or if you prefer, you can also install the Teams app on your phone and use that.

At each meeting we'll discuss the experiences our member organisations are having during the pandemic. You'll hear what RedbridgeCVS and Redbridge Council are doing, and have a chance to say what support you need from us. We'll also provide information about funding to help you respond to the crisis, and provide some basic IT tips and information.

This meeting - moving services online
  • Local organisation Shpresa supports the Albanian-speaking community. In the last few months they have moved many of their services online. Luljeta Nuzi wll talk about their digitalisation project.
  • RedbridgeCVS is moving from IT systems that store data in their office to Microsoft 365, where information is stored online ("in the cloud"). It's a system with major advantages for community groups, including small ones. Colin Wilson will talk about how it works.
How to take part

Anybody involved with a local community group or charity is welcome. You don't need to register - just join the meeting here on the day. You'll need a computer with a camera and microphone, plus speakers or headphones - most modern laptops will be fine. We use Microsoft Teams - you don't need to install any software, just use your web browser.

The minutes for the last online meeting, on 8 July, are available here.
