An opportunity for people from local charities and community groups to get together and discuss issues affecting us. We're often also joined by colleagues from the local statutory sector, such as Redbridge Council and the NHS.
We normally hold monthly meetings in Ilford Library. Until further notice we're holding these meetings online every two weeks using Microsoft Teams software. You need a computer with speakers and a microphone. You don't need to install Teams on your computer - you can join the meeting using your web browser. If you don't have a computer, or if you prefer, you can also install the Teams app on your phone and use that.
At each meeting we'll discuss the experiences our member organisations are having during the pandemic. You'll hear what RedbridgeCVS and Redbridge Council are doing, and have a chance to say what support you need from us. We'll also provide information about funding to help you respond to the crisis, and provide some basic IT tips and information.
This meeting - Workshop by the Ethical Property Foundation
The UK’s leading property advice charity the Ethical Property Foundation is delighted to offer this free property workshop for non-profit organisations in partnership with RedbridgeCVS.
Returning to your building after COVID-19 may feel a daunting and challenging task. Full of scientific and legal advice, the government guidance is not always easy to be applied by charities including those with vulnerable service users. You will need to ensure that everything is prepared for a safe return, including compliance with Health and Safety matters.
This 1 hour interactive Q & A session is designed to give you confidence and more knowledge to prepare your charity for returning to work. This short session will cover:
- Numbers of visitors and staff and control of the premises' use
- Measures you can take for the appropriate hygiene
- Identifying your ‘hot spot’ risk areas
- How visitors interact with staff and volunteers
- How much do you need to spend?
Delivered by two of the Ethical Property Foundation’s most experienced Associate Property Advisers, David Sayce and Tim Beales, this session will be a taster to help Redbridge charities plan for success.
How to take part
Anybody involved with a local community group or charity is welcome. You don't need to register - just on the day. You'll need a computer with a camera and microphone, plus speakers or headphones - most modern laptops will be fine. We use Microsoft Teams - you don't need to install any software, just use your web browser.
The minutes for the last online meeting, on 5 August, are available here.
