An opportunity for people from local charities and community groups to get together and discuss issues affecting us. We're often also joined by colleagues from the local statutory sector, such as Redbridge Council and the NHS.
We normally hold monthly meetings in Ilford Library. Until further notice we're holding these meetings online every two weeks using Microsoft Teams software. You need a computer with speakers and a microphone. You don't need to install Teams on your computer - you can join the meeting using your web browser. If you don't have a computer, or if you prefer, you can also install the Teams app on your phone and use that.
At each meeting we'll discuss the experiences our member organisations are having during the pandemic. You'll hear what RedbridgeCVS and Redbridge Council are doing, and have a chance to say what support you need from us. We'll also provide information about funding to help you respond to the crisis, and provide some basic IT tips and information.
This meeting - pandemic latest - EU citizens' rights after Brexit - website and IT help
- Dr Dennis Wilkes from Redbridge Public Health will provide a covid update
- EU citizens need to apply to the government’s EU Settlement Scheme to keep their right to live, work, study and access state benefits in the UK. We'll hear from Fran Harkness from Redbridge Council, who is managing a project to make sure people know their rights and take action.
- Social distancing will continue for some months yet, and ssing IT effectively is crucial at this time. RedbridgebridgeCVS can help organisations manage IT and get a website. Colin Wilson explains what's available.
Anybody involved with a local community group or charity is welcome. You don't need to register - just on the day. You'll need a computer with a camera and microphone, plus speakers or headphones - most modern laptops will be fine. We use Microsoft Teams - you don't need to install any software, just use your web browser.
