RSCP: Managing Allegations Against Staff and Volunteers

Monday, 6 December, 2021 - 13:45 to 16:30

Whilst the safeguarding of children is enhanced by the presence of trusted adults outside the family, some professionals in a position of trust can pose a threat to children. Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 emphasises that organisations and agencies working with children and families should have clear policies for dealing with allegations. The new Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021 also makes reference to managing concerns.

This half day training session will enable practitioners to reflect on current practice and responsibilities and to perform more confidently in their role in recognising and reporting allegations of abuse against staff and volunteers. It will provide an opportunity to understand the legal and procedural requirements in this important area of safeguarding children and young people.
