Your organisation is legally obliged to “safeguard” people who use your services – to protect their health, wellbeing and rights so they can live free from harm, abuse and neglect.
You need to take all possible steps to safeguard your service users, and ensure the people working with them are safe to do so. Your organisation also needs to know how to deal with allegations of abuse: how can you distinguish between allegations which result from real abuse and those which reflect misunderstandings? How do you cope with the distress an allegation can cause?
What you’ll learn
The background to adult protection and safeguarding adults
How to identify adult abuse
How to recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse
What to do if you suspect abuse
"Very informative with practical exercises to enhance knowledge.”
