Births: - Ceremony, Custom & Tradition
Ilford Islamic Centre 52-56 Albert Road, Ilford IG1 1HW
Welcoming a baby into the family and community is an exciting occasion. It is also a time steeped in customs and traditions that are believed to bring protection, spiritual blessings and happiness to the newborn. In this latest series of Women’s Workshops we will be exploring these fascinating and diverse customs, traditions and ceremonies.
Please come along to our second Workshop to hear from our Muslim and Jewish women speakers about birth customs in their faith communities. In future workshops we will hear from women of other faiths. Our women’s workshops are informal with the opportunity for discussion, questions & answers in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Workshops are free to attend however a voluntary donation of approximately £3 would be appreciated towards the cost of the event. We do hope you can join us.
Light refreshments will be provided
