The main purpose of the role is to organise events and activities for 2024 in conjunction with the Events Subcommittee, taking direction on tasks to be completed from the Events Officer and Social Secretary. You will receive weekly supervision from the Vice Chair.

Responsibilities

  • Organise events and activities for 2024 under the guidance of the Events Officer and Social Secretary.
  • Book venues, caterers, performers, speakers, stallholders, photographers.
  • Book volunteers to assist with events and activities.
  • Create flyers and posters and send information out on Mailchimp, WhatsApp, Facebook, emails to attendees, members, other stakeholders.
  • Assist with the purchase of equipment and supplies for events and activities.
  • Create templates on Google Form and Google Sheets to collect monitoring data and maintain a database system on performance, outputs, inputs attendances’ information.
  • Undertake admin tasks relevant to organising events and activities.
  • Send letters, emails, text messages in relation to bookings as above. 
  • Set up Zoom meetings where necessary for organising events and activities.

Candidate requirements:

  • 2 years’ experience of organising events and activities, preferably in a community or charity organisation. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent in IT with skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Canva, Zoom, Trello, Database.
