The London Borough of Redbridge is proud to announce that it has successfully secured an additional year of funding to deliver community ESOL programmes and community conversation clubs, which will be delivered by Redbridge Institute.

Securing an additional £300,000 of funding, the English for Every Day project, will help over 500 Redbridge residents who have little or no English language access support to develop the skills they need to integrate successfully into their communities.

The project has been an enormous success in the past – the above photo was taken during an ESOL creative club activity.

Working with community partners, a network of 15 ESOL hubs and creative clubs will recruit participants from priority wards across the borough. A team of experienced ESOL tutors from Redbridge Institute and volunteer ESOL Ambassadors recruited from the community will be trained to run class and club activities.

The project extension will run from September 2021 to May 2022 and is open to any Redbridge resident, regardless of immigration status.

For further details about the project, please email Nasreen Akhtar.
