Asda and Marks and Spencer have both launched a volunteer shopping card to help volunteers collecting food for people self-isolating. The volunteer shopping card will help a wide audience as many people are relying on friends, neighbours and community volunteers to get them their groceries for them.
Asda said the scheme has been designed to create a ‘contact free’ and safe way for people to provide funds to those shopping on their behalf and creates mechanism for the millions of volunteers across the country pledging to step in and help those in need, including the 750,000 volunteers that have signed up to help the NHS.
Both schemes offer a different cash limit as Marks and Spencer's customers can place up to £500 on the cards, while Asda’s vouchers have a £150 limit.
