The ongoing disruption of coronavirus is affecting many Londoners to financially or physically access food. Alongside food banks are finding it tough to continue to supply emergency food aid. This has been due to a number of factors that include fall in donations, insufficient supplies from supermarkets and a lack of volunteers to help continue to provide this essential support.

Reports from The Trussell Trust and Independent Food Aid Network who are the charities which represent food banks across London and the UK have mentioned food banks have been forced to close or having to consider closing as there is a shortage of food and people to run the food banks.

If you are able to help food banks and your fellow Londoners by making a donation you can do this online by visiting www.london.gov.uk/coronavirus-food
