Community Crowdfunding programme - Invitation to Workshops

Friday, 11 June, 2021

Redbridge Council would like to let you know about their Community Crowdfunding programme. The programme is run in partnership with Spacehive, the UK’s leading civic crowdfunding platform.

Projects that improve local parks, provide workshops for young creative designers, and support the arts were among the first projects supported by Community Crowdfunding programme earlier this year. To discover more about them, check out the spring round projects.

Funding Information

Redbridge Council want local community groups and organisations in Redbridge to create and fund projects which celebrate and improve their local areas.

Local community groups can bid for projects that vary in pledge scale from under £1,000 for smaller projects, up to £20,000 for larger projects. Members of the public can show their support for projects by “liking” them, and by pledging financial donations and/or volunteer time in project wishlists.

Redbridge Council, through the Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL), has allocated a total of £200,000 to the programme per funding round. Up to £10,000 is available per project as a part-match funding pledge as long as projects meet the selection criteria and there are sufficient available funds.

If you have a project idea and are eager to find out how to get involved, please sign up for the next workshops on Monday 29 June at 12:00 -13:00 and Thursday 14 July at 16:00 -17:00 or visit

Can't attend the online workshops? Email and Redbridge Council can then provide you with more information and support.

As we all emerge from the coronavirus current crisis, it is hoped that this crowdfunding programme will become a positive springboard for a locally-led revival, where local groups come up with attractive project ideas to benefit the community, and generate financial and volunteer support from residents, businesses and the Council.
