The second meeting of the relaunched Voluntary Sector Network will focus on health issues.

We were very pleased that our first meeting in the new format was a success - around twenty people took part in a discussion of fundraising. After consulting with network members, we've changed the time of the meetings, and we've altered the format so as to emphasise discussion and give people a chance to network with each other.

For the February meeting, discussion will focus on health issues.

  • Jan Scott, Service Development Manager for Saint Francis Hospice, will talk about local end of life care services
  • Abbas Mirza, from the Whipps Cross Hospital Redevelopment Team, will talk about plans to completely redevelop the hospital, building a new one from scratch. While Whipps Cross is located in Waltham Forest, many of the hospital's patients are from Redbridge, so this is an important chance to have your say about its future.

The meeting takes place from 10 to 11.30am on Wednesday 12 February in Redbridge Central Library, Clements Rd, Ilford IG1 1EA. Anyone involved with a local charity or community group is welcome - there's no need to register in advance, just come along!
