The London Borough of Redbridge is offering multi-agency briefings providing an introduction to safeguarding adults.
These free one-hour briefings are for staff and volunteers working in agencies in any sector in Redbridge who may come into contact with adults who are at risk. This will include those in support roles and those working predominantly with children and young people.
The briefings will address the following questions:
- What is meant by the term ‘safeguarding adults’?
- What are the different types of abuse and neglect?
- What action should be taken if abuse of an adult at risk is suspected?
There will be time for questions and answers. Sources of further information will be signposted.
The briefings will take place from 10:00–11:00am, via MS Teams on the following dates:
- 15 September 2021
- 13 October 2021
- 10 November 2021
- 5 January 2022
- 9 February 2022
The briefings will be facilitated by Samira Natafgi-Roberts, Head of Safeguarding Adults and DoLS, LB Redbridge, and/or other members of the Safeguarding Adults Team.
To book a free place on a briefing, please send an email with your name, job title, agency, telephone number and the date you wish to attend. An MS Teams invitation will then be sent to you.
If you have any queries, please contact the Redbridge Safeguarding Adult Board Manager on 020 8708 5282 or 07775 399 017.
Practitioners requiring a more in-depth understanding of adult safeguarding are recommended to attend the free half day multi-agency Working Together to Safeguard Adults Training Programme. For more information on the course, email Learning and Development.
