Redbridge Institute hosted an adult careers day on Wednesday 15th June at its Gants Hill campus to help local residents understand and access the range of further training and work opportunities available across the borough.

Amongst the sessions on offer were workshops from the University of East London on how to get into university. Other participants at the event included Job Centre Plus, Work Redbridge, Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure, RedbridgeCVS, New City College and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

Feedback from the day was excellent and it provided lots of opportunities for people to talk directly to training providers and other organisations about their career options, learn about volunteering opportunities, understand what vocational training pathways were available,  as well as finding out about ways to enhance their CVs.

One of the facilitators said 'You have an amazing community of students in your facilities. It was so lovely to be able to sit and speak to them and explore their career paths and (hopefully) inspire them to come work for us.'

Over 200 people attended the workshops and provided lots of positive feedback, thanking the Institute for a ‘fantastic opportunity’ and noting that 'It was very helpful for my career path.'
