Pohwer is an advocacy service which has been commissioned by Redbridge to provide NHS Health complaints advocacy for individuals living in the London Borough of Redbridge.
The role of the NHS Complaints Advocacy Service is to provide advocacy support to people who wish to make a complaint about any NHS funded service. These include GPs, Dentists, Opticians, Health Care centres and Hospitals.
The key aim of this is to resolve disputes at a local level and help to support improved relationships between the NHS and those who use their services.
Their service is free, independent and confidential. They can support in the following ways:
- Explain the alternative dispute options under the NHS complaints regulations.
- Help service users to understand what legislation and guidance may govern complaints or the treatment received.
- Support with complaint letters and attend local resolution meeting’s if required, to achieve desired outcome.
- Resource information to assist service user to make an informed decision.
-‘Sign post’ to relevant service/s where possible.
They will work directly with you to help you so that you can be empowered to make your complaint.
