The EMPOWER Research Study is continuing to seek participants for their research trialling a new employment initiative.

There are some people who may find it harder than others to get a job and hold down a job. Some people find relationships difficult, which can make it hard to get along with colleagues. Some people may experience strong emotions that ‘come from nowhere’ and take a long time to go down.

The NELFT NHS Trust have designed a new employment initiative (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills for Employment, or DBT-SE) which aims to support people who experience these difficulties. This is a skills-based group which lasts for 17 weeks and is delivered via video call. They are conducting a research study called EMPOWER, comparing this new initiative to Mental Health Employment Services that are already available in the local community, to see which is more helpful.

EMPOWER are hoping to begin their next cohort as soon as possible, so now is a great time to get in touch! If you think this study might be useful to you, or would just like some more information, please contact the research team on 0208 430 8088 or send an email to EMPOWER@nelft.nhs.uk.
