Go Green Grants are available to homeowners and landlords in the borough to help improve the energy efficiency of their homes through the installation of low-carbon heating improvements. This could help save up to £600 a year on energy bills and make homes warmer and more comfortable for the people living in them.

Homeowners and landlords are eligible to apply for the scheme. In the case of a rented property, the household income criteria is related to the income of the tenants living in the property, and not the landlord’s income.

To be eligible, households must:

  • Have a household income of £30,000 or less
  • Live in a property with an EPC rating of DEF, or G.

You may have already been sent information about applying. However, anyone who believes they are eligible should contact the council directly rather than wait to be contacted.

Types of work

As part of the application process, your property will undergo an assessment that will recommend the appropriate measures.

This could include:

  • Solar panels
  • Loft insulation
  • Solid wall insulation
  • Floor insulation
  • Cavity wall insulation.

Fossil fuel heating systems, such as gas boilers, are ineligible, irrespective of whether they are to be installed as new or require repairs to existing systems.
