RedbridgeCVS has renewed its Matrix accreditation for a further 3 years, demonstrating the high quality of its community learning programme, which offers a range of short courses and Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) support to staff and volunteers from the voluntary and community sector and other partners.
The Matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance (IAG), either as their sole purpose or as part of their service offering.
Roger Chapman, Head of the Matrix Service for The Growth Company said:
“This is a fantastic achievement for RedbridgeCVS and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available. The Matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice in these areas. With their accreditation success, RedbridgeCVS is working to provide the best possible support to their clients.”
Commenting on the award, assessor Alistair Hudson said: “Throughout this Accreditation Review, RCVS Training Department demonstrated IAG practices that are based on ensuring that training is not just a day of learning, but a way of equipping learners with the skills and knowledge to identify and achieve their life and work goals.”
One learner commented that the training was “Very interesting and informative. I’ll be able to use the information to have more impact with my volunteering.” Another said: “I took a course on managing stress and anxiety and it has really helped me in all aspects of my life.” Courses can also help people with career transitions, as one learner said: “I’m looking to return to my previous career as a social worker, and their programmes on safeguarding really educate and empower, and help me to keep in touch with the issues”.
RedbridgeCVS is currently offering a range of free courses online, many of which address needs specific to the pandemic in the voluntary sector. For course bookings please visit our training page.
