World Autism Awareness Week is fast approaching and Sycamore Trust UK have a campaign for w/c 29th March. It's the time of year that the Autism charity are normally promoting their Dare to be Different activity but as they can't get together with family, friends and colleagues at present, that won't be possible for another year.

However, as the evenings are getting lighter and the temperature outside is getting warmer, people are venturing outside more often for their fresh air and exercise. With that in mind, Sycamore Trust are hoping that their friends and supporters in Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge will #StepUpforSycamore next month.

The charity are asking people to collect sponsorship for their daily exercise, whether it be walking, running or cycling, or even swimming if you can find a pool that's open! You can set the pace, the distance and the fee. You can walk to the shops, round the garden, or simply up the stairs in your building, school or place of work. All you have to do is ask friends and neighbours, colleagues and class-mates if they will give you a couple of quid to help you along the way.

Autism Awareness week begins on 29th March 2021 – Sycamore Trust UK supports families and individuals in Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge for whom Autism is part of daily life. There are more than 700,000 people with Autism in the UK alone.
