Redbridge Talking Therapies provides short-term psychological therapy for people aged 18+ with mild to severe common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression. They offer both step 2 (low intensity) and step 3 (high intensity) services, working from within community health centres and GP surgeries, as well as at their base in Goodmayes Hospital.

Step 2 interventions include guided self-help and psychoeducation with a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. Step 3 interventions include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Behavioural Couples Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Counselling for Depression, with a CBT Therapist or Psychologist. They also offer a range of group therapy interventions across step 2 and 3; Depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Applied Relaxation, Stress Management, Long Term Conditions.

Patients are able to have appointments either face-to-face, by telephone, or online; and staff provide therapy through interpreters when required. They now offer out of hours appointments too, including weekends. Employment support services are also available to help find and maintain work for patients who require it.

Patients are able to call Redbridge Talking Therapies directly on 0300 300 1554 option 1 and self-refer (no GP letters needed). We take the patient's demographics and they are instantly booked in for an assessment. Patients are seen for their first appointment within 28 days of referral, and are then offered 6-12 therapy sessions if suitable for Talking Therapies (any other patients are referred to a more suitable service). All GPs will receive assessment and discharge reports updating them on the progress of their patients.
