Tree Planting at Seven Kings Park

Locals helping with tree planting on the day of one of the workshops
Friday, 20 November, 2020

In autumn 2018 Trees For Cities completed a successful tree planting project, now this winter they plan on bringing the community together again by extending the woodland habitat in the north playing field in Seven Kings Park. Planting a new area of mixed woodland will provide more space for wildlife and help with flood prevention.

They had started running their community planting workshops for this winter however due to the present lockdown these have been stopped for the time being. From the 3rd of December they have plans to recommence these planting workshops depending on whether there is an extension to the current national lockdown period.

You can join them at one of their sessions where they will be offering free, socially distanced tree planting workshops to local family household bubbles. These workshops have been delivered in accordance with government guidance throughout the pandemic. Families and individuals who have joined their previous projects have been delighted to be able to get outdoors, do something active and plant trees for the future generations during this uncertain time.

To take part or find out more information on their project please see their website.
