Tree Planting taking place at Valentines Park

Tiny plants growing in a tray
Friday, 14 February, 2020

Join the Nature Conservation Ranger Team and Transition Town Ilford volunteers on Wednesday 19th February, between 10am-1.00pm as they plant another 200 trees in Valentines Park (within what was the pitch and putt), to complete the woodland corridor planting they did before Christmas. The trees supplied have been kindly donated by the Woodland Trust.

They will be meeting at Valentines Park Car Park off Perth Road, opposite Milton Crescent (closest postcode IG2 6EA). The tree planting will be done on what is becoming a new nature reserve in the park, alongside Perth Road entrances.

On the day there will be hot drinks and snacks provided. To get a idea of the amount of people taking part please register your interest by emailing Peter on

This event is supported by Transition Town Ilford and is also linked to the Climate Coalition's "Show the Love" campaign.

At the end of planting the trees they will celebrate what we love that is being lost to climate change. For more about nature conservancy see -
