Art Clubbers CIC has announced the winner for its Welcome to Goodmayes mural competition.

The contest invited young people aged 10 to 24 who live, work or study in Redbridge to draw up an idea for a mural that will be painted outside Goodmayes Station.

The winning concept that scored the most public votes and scored most highly with the judges is the 'One Community Together' submission depicted above. The winner's name is Tahani Muhaimin, a 13 year old Ilford resident. Tahani was informed yesterday and is thrilled to be the winner.

Speaking to Ajay Pabial, managing director of Art Clubbers, she said:

‘Thank you and the judges so much for giving me the opportunity to be involved in the competition and I am so happy to win this for the community! I really appreciate the message from the judges and look forward to seeing the artwork live in person.’

Tahani will shortly be receiving her certificate and prize, a £500 gift card thanks to Tesco

Progress on the mural will commence in the new year.
