We are pleased to offer a wide range of training courses, which are free to staff and volunteers at Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations.

Our courses are either delivered online, or in person. This will often depend on the topic being covered. Please check this before you book, as it can vary.

Governance:

Volunteer involvement:

Fundraising:

  2. How to develop a fundraising strategy

Safeguarding:

  1. Safeguarding adults 
  2. Safeguarding children & young people
  3. Child exploitation awareness

Management: 

  1. Managing a team
  2. Handling conflict in the workplace  
  3. Quick guide to project management
  4. Get started on your business plan

Guiding principles: 

  1. Equality, diversity & inclusion 
  2. GDPR (data protection) refresher 
  3. Introduction to information, advice & guidance  
  4. Effective communication in a work environment

Publicity: 

  1. Creating materials for publicity with Canva 
  2. Planning, creating & scheduling social media content

Impact assessment: 

  1. Developing a theory of change
  2. Demonstrating the impact of your work

Wellbeing: 

  1. Mental health & resilience
  2. Safeguarding, safety & wellbeing essentials
  3. Confidence & assertiveness skills

Important funder requirements for course attendees

  • By joining our training you agree to complete our surveys.
  • You must be a London resident aged 19+ who has been living in the UK/EU for at least 3 years.
  • You will need to provide your full home address, and to email us a photo of one of the following IDs:

-Bank card

-Bank statement

-Birth certificate

-Driving Licence

- ID Card

-NHS card

-NI card

-Passport

-Resident Permit

-Utility bill

Although our enrolment form is quite comprehensive in order to meet funder requirements, the next time you book you’ll only need your email address.

Public and private sector fees

Our scheduled courses are charged at £60 (public sector) and £100 (private sector) for our courses under 4 hours, or £120 (public sector sector) and £200 (private sector) for training of 4 hours or more.

  • Cancellations received 10 working days before a paid-for course starts will be refunded in full. For cancellations received between 10 and 7 working days before the course starts, the participant/organisation will receive a 50% refund.
  • For cancellations received less than 7 working days before the course starts, the participant/organisation will be charged in full.

Participants may change the named person attending the course or transfer their payment to a different course at no additional charge once within a six month period.

Participants/organisations will be entitled to a full refund if RedbridgeCVS cancels a training course.

Wider CVS training offer

The four CVS’ of Hackney, Islington, Redbridge and Tower Hamlets have collaborated to strengthen the training offer to voluntary and community organisations across the East London boroughs of City and Hackney, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Waltham Forest, Newham and Tower Hamlets.

The offer means that any organisations who are members of their local CVS can access free (or Member rates) training at other CVS’ across these boroughs.

Further learning opportunities

Redbridge Institute of Adult Education is rated “outstanding” by Ofsted and provides both accredited and non-accredited learning for adults and families, including progression pathways towards potential careers.
