Evidence suggests that one of the most effective ways of positively influencing people to become stronger and more capable is to be solution focused. A solution focused leader will concentrate on what people can do – their strengths and resources. They will ask insightful questions that direct people’s attention towards what is possible rather than what hasn’t worked yet and will be most interested in possibility and potential rather than the barriers to growth.

This workshop, delivered in partnership with Andy Vass, will provide an introduction to the skills, habits and attitudes of being an effective, solution focused leader.

You’ll learn how to:

• Discover how to shift from problems to solutions thinking, asking questions that trigger reflection and potential
• Understand how to apply the skills of scaling and exceptions to build confidence and resourcefulness in others
• Be able to set positive intentions and outcomes for tricky conversations, with motivating goals and first steps towards change.

This course is particularly relevant for trustees and other voluntary sector leaders.
