What is volunteering?
Volunteering is about giving your time and skills, unpaid, for the benefit of others or the environment. It’s a really rewarding activity that can help you get involved in your local community, meet new people, develop your confidence and skills, and have fun! Volunteer Centre Redbridge can help you find out more about local organisations, community groups and clubs that need your help.
Never volunteered before?
If you are new to volunteering and want to find out more before making a commitment, come to one of our free 'Introduction to Volunteering' workshops. This is the perfect place to consider how volunteering would fit into your life, learn about volunteers’ rights and responsibilities and find out how to look for volunteering opportunities.
Been a volunteer before?
If you have volunteered before, would like a new role and would like to discuss the types of roles that match your skills, interests and availability, we can offer a confidential, one-to-one appointment with an advisor. We will discuss available roles with you and can refer you to opportunities that are a good match.
Volunteering can help you too
Volunteer Centre Redbridge is a member of the Work Redbridge Partnership and offers regular volunteering information sessions at Work Clubs and Opportunities Fairs organised by Work Redbridge.
Volunteering is a great way to give your time and talents to a good cause, but is also a valuable way of gaining experience and references that can help you progress towards employment.
